We’re located on the 3rd floor above Tanning By Tan Line and Tabletop. We’re next to Mission, Darlington House, and Zorbas. The glass door with 1608 written above it is the door that you’ll need walk into.

What does our office look like?

We renovated our office in August, 2017 to make our waiting room larger and more inviting for our customers. Most customers drop off and pick up their devices but feel free to wait for your repair.

  • District Repair? Didn't you used to be called CrackedMacScreen?

In June of 2017 we were approached by Apple to become an Apple Authorized Service Provider and part of the agreement was that we would change our name. District Repair was born! In September we went live as an Apple Authorized Service Provider but we removed ourselves from the AASP program in March, 2018.

  • Wait, didn't you used to be an Apple Authorized Service Provider?

Apple asked us to become an Apple Authorized Service Provider in June 2017. We happily signed onto the program and had our first day on September 29th, 2017. While we were incredibly busy (we performed over 2,000 repairs in 6 months) and achieved Premium Service Provider Status (Apple's highest honor for AASP's) we decided that it didn't make financial sense for us to continue being Apple Authorized. What we didn’t realize during this process that we would lose what was most important to us - our one on one relationship that we had built with you. The busier we got, the less time we had to actually interact with the people who really needed us - for repairs, for insight, for support in a world that’s become pretty impersonal.

So...back to what we know how to do best, and what led Apple to us in the first place - fixing your device quickly and professionally, while we make the experience as painless as possible.

Thank you for supporting us through this experiment. You’re the reason we do what we do.

  • What are your hours?

    We’re open from 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday-Friday and 9:00am - 2:00pm Saturday. We are closed on Sunday.

  • How long will my repair take? Can you do it while I wait?

iPhone repairs: Most iPhone repairs have a 2 hour turnaround.

iPad repairs: Most iPad repairs have a 4 hour turnaround

Mac repairs: Depending on the model (and the repair performed) your repair might be performed same day or it could take 2-3 business days. Contact us for more details.

  • Will you need my passcode?

In a word: yes. If you don't feel comfortable giving us your passcode please back up your data and restore your phone prior to you coming into our office. We have to test all components of your device before, during, and after your repair and the passcode is essential to being able to test everything. We aren't just popping off a screen and popping a new one on; we have to remove sometimes 8 different components (speakers, microphones, antennae, etc.) and if we can't test those things there is a good chance your device won't be fully operational upon pickup.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all credit cards (AMEX, Visa, Mastercard, Discover) and can either swipe a physical card or type in a card number (we’ll need the expiration, 3 or 4 digit code, and billing zip code.) We also accept cash and checks.

If your company is paying for the repair we can email them (or you) a payment link through Square before your repair if you fill out a contact form prior to coming into our office. Or we can send it after your repair. However, until the invoice is paid we will not release your device to you.

  • Are your parts made by Apple?

No. Unless you bring your device to the Apple Store it is impossible to be using "Apple" parts. We know this as we were an Apple Authorized Service Provider from September 2017 to March 2018. If a repair shop anywhere tells you they are using Apple parts they are lying to you. That being said, we use better parts than anywhere else. There is a HUGE difference of quality with sometimes up to 7 different quality grades and we always use the best. Simply put: we don't want you to come back with issues so we use the best parts available.

  • Will I lose any data when you perform my repair?

We don't go into any repair saying to ourselves "Hey, we're going to erase this device." That being said, if you device dies on our repair table (or explodes, taking off half of Colin's face) you will lose your data if it is not backed up. We are not responsible for any data loss during your repair.

  • I have Applecare+, can you help me?

The Apple Store is the only place in DC that can performed AppleCare+ repairs. We no longer can provide AppleCare+ or in Apple warranty repairs as of March, 2018.

  • What warranty do I get from District Repair?

Your repaired Apple device will carry a 90-day warranty through us. And if your device is still within your original Apple warranty it will not void it (unless you are getting a battery replacement - all third party iPhone batteries make your device unserviceable).

  • Will I get a receipt?

With every repair you will get a receipt detailing your warranty information.

  • Do you have payment plans?

Unfortunately we can’t do payment plans.

  • Summer Hours: We’re open from 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am-6:00pm on Fridays. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
