Meet Colin! He's one half of the Trevor and Colin dynamic brother duo.
Where do we perform repairs?

For iPhone and iPad screen repairs we have two options: you come to us at MakeOffices (1015 15th St. NW #600 – by appointment only) or we come to you inside of our service area. For data recovery and Mac screen repairs we can pick up and drop off for free.

Can I just come drop off my device? I need this fixed ASAP and I don’t want you to come to me.

Sure! You’ll just need to contact us first as there is a chance that we won’t be at MakeOffices if you were to stop by unannounced. Please either fill out a Repair / Service Request form or call either Trevor or Colin using the contact phone numbers listed on our service pricing pages.

Our pretty sweet kitchen / hang out area.
Plenty of space to do work!
Ok, I want to come to your office. Can I wait there?

Yes! There is a communal kitchen / work area with WIFI and abundant seating. Please don’t bring guests without letting us know, however, as MakeOffices doesn’t allow us more than 1-2 people per repair appointment.

iPhone and iPad Screen Repairs

We have two options for iPhone and iPad repairs: you can come to us or we can come to you (inside of our service area). If you are looking for the absolute fastest repair it’s best that you come to our office inside of MakeOffices at 1015 15th St. NW #600 (by appointment only).

Live or work inside of our service area? We can come to you and perform the repair right there. We need you to provide us a space where we can have a clean desk, power outlet, and no distractions. If you do not have a place like this for us you’ll need to come to our office.

The address of MakeOffices is 1015 15th St. NW #600. We’re next to the Starbucks on the corner of 15th and K St. NW. Once you get to the building tell the security guard that you are going to the sixth floor. Walk to the elevator and press 6 (like any normal elevator – you got this!). On the sixth floor walk to the side of the building with the front desk (there will be someone sitting there) and tell them you are here to see District Repair.

Most of the repairs that we perform are during the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday and 9:00am-2:00pm Saturday.

We do reply to all repair forms and contact forms from 8:00am-8:00pm Monday-Friday, 9:00am-8:00pm on Saturdays, and 10:00am-6:00pm Sundays (to schedule for the following week). Trevor has a baby that’s due any day now so your flexibility is key.

Want the very best chance to get your repair performed at your #1 choice of time and location? Fill out your repair form completely and give us a complete story if you need it done today. If you write “asap” we die a little bit on the inside. It really helps as we have lives too!

iPhone repairs take one hour and iPad repairs take between 1 and 1.5 hours to complete.

Yes! We have a huge communal kitchen area at MakeOffices with WIFI and seating. Please do not bring a group of people, however, as we are only allowed 1 or 2 people per repair.

Our pretty sweet kitchen / hang out area.

Please use the Repair Request Form on the pricing page of your particular model of iPhone or iPad to schedule a repair if you don’t have any questions that would prevent you from scheduling. If you have questions that would prevent you from scheduling a repair please call Colin directly using the phone number on the iPhone and iPad product pages.

Yes. We need to be able to test all functionality of your iPhone or iPad prior to, during, and after your repair. If you don’t feel comfortable giving us your passcode you’ll need to be available to type it in for us during the repair. We aren’t just popping off a screen and popping a new one on; we have to remove sometimes 8 different components (speakers, microphones, antennae, etc.) and if we can’t test those things there is a good chance your device won’t be fully operational upon pickup.

We don’t go into any repair saying to ourselves “Hey, we’re going to erase this device.” That being said, if you device dies on the desk in front of us (or explodes, taking off half of Colin’s face) you will lose your data if it is not backed up. We are not responsible for any data loss during your repair.

Please use the contact form located on the bottom of every page on our website.

Mac Screen Repairs

Most Mac screen repairs (Retina Pros and Airs) take 4 business days to complete as we are shipping your display assembly to our partner company in Pennsylvania. Older Macs we repair in the office and the repair is much quicker. Contact us via your Mac’s page for exact timeframes.

We reply to all repair forms and contact forms from 8:00am-8:00pm Monday-Friday and 9:00am-8:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Most of the Mac laptop drop offs are during the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday and 9:00am-2:00pm Saturday but if there is an emergency or you are REALLY NICE we have been known to stay in the office late or come in on a Sunday. Because it’s just us two we have to be able to use our discretion to schedule drop offs at nights and on weekends. Trevor has a baby that’s due any day now so your flexibility is key.

Want the very best chance to get your Mac dropped off at your #1 choice of time? Fill out your repair form completely and give us reasoning why you need to drop off your Mac at night or on a Sunday. It really helps as we have lives too!

We perform Mac repairs at Cove Dupont Circle – 1666 Connecticut Ave NW by appointment only. Do not come to Cove unannounced as there is a good chance we will not be there (we aren’t here all day).

Please use the Repair Request Form on the pricing page of your particular model of Mac. If you get stuck there are contact forms on the bottom of every page of our website. (Including this one)

Yes. We need to be able to test all functionality of your Mac prior to, during, and after your repair. If you don’t feel comfortable giving us your password you’ll need to create a guest account for us to use.

District Repair @ Home - On site tech help

Keep in mind that this is not an exhaustive list, just a sample of past things that we have helped with:

  • New printer setup and old printer issues (won’t print, won’t connect to network)
  • General Apple product questions (saving files, setting new home page in browser, increasing font size)
  • Photo back up to the cloud
  • Slow Mac/iPad/iPhone
  • New WIFI network setup (Google Wifi is our favorite)
  • Setting up of smart home devices like Sonos speakers, Amazon Echo (Alexa), Wink, Phillips Hue
  • Grabbing things off of really high shelves in your house (Trevor is really tall)

We reply to all request forms and contact forms from 8:00am-8:00pm Monday-Friday and 9:00am-8:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Most sessions are from 8:00am-5:00pm M-F and 9:00am-2:00pm on Saturday but Trevor can come to your house or office at night or on the weekends as well if that is what will work for you. Just make sure to fill out your request form completely.

When you submit your form below I’ll look over your information and I’ll be able to know pretty closely how long something will take.

General Questions

In June of 2017 we were approached by Apple to become an Apple Authorized Service Provider and part of the agreement was that we would change our name. District Repair was born! In September we went live as an Apple Authorized Service Provider but we removed ourselves from the AASP program in March, 2018.

Apple asked us to become an Apple Authorized Service Provider in June 2017. We happily signed onto the program and had our first day on September 29th, 2017. While we were incredibly busy (we performed over 2,000 repairs in 6 months) and achieved Premium Service Provider Status (Apple’s highest honor for AASP’s) we decided that it didn’t make financial sense for us to continue being Apple Authorized. What we didn’t realize during this process that we would lose what was most important to us – our one on one relationship that we had built with you. The busier we got, the less time we had to actually interact with the people who really needed us – for repairs, for insight, for support in a world that’s become pretty impersonal.

As of March 2018 we have removed ourselves from Apple’s Authorized Service Provider program so we no longer perform AppleCare+ repairs or battery replacements. The Apple Store is the only place that will allow you to repair your screen for $29 or replace your entire device for $99 through AppleCare+.

We accept all credit cards (AMEX, Visa, Mastercard, Discover) and can either swipe a physical card or type in a card number (we’ll need the expiration, 3 or 4 digit code, and billing zip code.) We also accept cash and checks.

If your company is paying for the repair we can email them (or you) a payment link through Square before your repair if you fill out a contact form prior to us coming to you.

No. Unless you bring your device to the Apple Store it is impossible to be using “Apple” parts. We know this as we were an Apple Authorized Service Provider from September 2017 to March 2018. If a repair shop anywhere tells you they are using Apple parts they are lying to you. That being said, we use better parts than anywhere else. There is a HUGE difference of quality with sometimes up to 7 different quality grades and we always use the best. Simply put: we don’t want you to come back with issues so we use the best parts available.

Your repaired Apple device will carry a 90-day warranty through us. And if your device is still within your original Apple warranty it will not void it (unless you are getting a battery replacement – all third party iPhone batteries make your device unserviceable).

We only repair Apple devices. If you have an Android device (or a TV, GPS, camera, speaker system, etc.) please let Google be your guide and try to find another shop in the area that can help you. We do, however, do home tech support for most consumer tech products. Check out our pricing page for more details.
